My Goobly Cat
My goobly cat can fly, you see.
He soars above so gracefully.
All flapping paws and swooshing tail;
High above at night he’ll sail.
He zooms above the rooftops high
But then forgets the how or why.
And just as quick, he floats back down
Into the bushes straight ‘cross town.
Always, though, he finds his way
Back to his home so that he may
Tell me “I meant to do all that.”
Of course, I think. He’s goobly cat.
He’s a noodlehead, a nut.
He has a motor in his butt.
He zooms all over the house, and then
He’s off to do mischief ‘til who knows when.
He might be rambunctious, and loony, and loud
But he's my special guy and of him I am proud.
He’s friendly and purr-sy and loving and that
Is why I’m so happy that I have my cat.
