Painting

I'm learning to paint and little by little
I'm bringing whole worlds into being and it'll
be such a delight to show all my friends
all the wondrous things I see in my mind's lens.

The shapes and the colors, so fancy and fine;
they might be crude now but I'll give it some time.
Any skill that's worth learning takes patience and practice
when painting a castle, a cat, or a cactus.

I might never make money with all my paint splatters
but I'm proud of myself and that's really what matters.
