The Chatty Coffee

I made a cup of coffee so strong
That it talked to me the whole day long.

“You’re great!” It said. “You’re doing fine!”
“You should write a book. Or nine.”

“And also, clean your room, you slob!”
“Maybe get a better job!”

“Your music taste is due for a change.”
“Perhaps some flowers, for me, you’d arrange?”

It kept going like that and wouldn’t quit.
It even critiqued the way that I sit.

I drank it all down to end all the chatter.
Now I talk like that. It’s a bit of a matter.
